A Prayer for God to Reply

“But you, O Lord, are a protect about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. Psalm 3:3-4

I like that this Bible verse starts with the word “but.” While this kind of a little word, it refers back again to situations that are mind-boggling the writer, to the issues he was acquiring with his enemies, and to the complete hopelessness of his remaining ready to survive just just one extra detail. 

Rather of despairing about his troubles, and then sinking into a deeper melancholy, he starts to talk truth of the matter into his daily life. He focuses his following text on the only just one who can help him. The Lord. He says: “But you, O Lord, are…” He reminds himself of who on your own can help him—the Lord. 

But you, O Lord, are a defend about me. The Lord is a preserving protect to us in our day by day battles. Our enemy, Satan, is working with something and anybody he can to check out to don us down, to make our everyday living tricky, and to damage us. But the Lord is our protect. Ephesians 6:16 tells us: “In all circumstances take up the shield of religion.” Our religion in the Lord is the protect that will shield us. Cling to this real truth, and tightly maintain on to your religion as you deal with your battles. 

But you, O Lord, are my glory. It is the Lord who is his glory. It is the Lord who presents his lifetime indicating. It is the Lord by itself who makes him substantial. It isn’t the reality that this writer is the King of Israel, or that he has palaces, prestige or has quite a few youngsters. It is the Lord by itself. In our lives right now, in this fashionable globe, it isn’t fame, dollars, associations or social standing that provides us benefit, but it is the Lord on your own and his existence in our daily life that genuinely provides us significance.   

But you, O Lord, are the lifter of my head. All also frequently, so a lot is thrown at us that our head just by natural means bows down from its bodyweight. Our hearts turn out to be significant and we wrestle to obtain the constructive in our life and ideas. It is in periods these as these that we must remind ourselves that it is the Lord by itself who is the lifter of our head. He is the only a person who can give us hope in the darkness, and the only 1 who can bolster us as we trudge by our weary instances. 

But you, O Lord, solution me. How encouraging to remind ourselves that the Lord answers us. He responses us in truth, which ignites our religion, and gives hope to our potential as we wait on Him to go in powerful techniques in each individual place of our desires. 

So as we go through our working day, might we rest in this truth of the matter: the Lord is our protect, our glory, the lifter of our head, and He will hear our every single cry and He will reply. We have to talk these terms of truth and reinforce our religion dependent on our comprehension of who God is and how He has served us in the earlier.  

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, 
Thank you for the words of this verse. Thank you that you are my security, my which means for dwelling, my hope giver in the midst of my struggles. Thank you that I can cry out to you and that you hear my prayer, that you pay attention to my words, and that you remedy my cry to you. I adore you Lord. I will cling to the promise of these terms and go ahead in my working day resting in your defense, in my importance to you and in the hope that you fill my coronary heart with. Flood me with your peace and open my eyes to possibilities to share the fact of this scripture with all those about me.
