What to Pray During a Setback

“Then he claimed to me, ‘This is what the LORD states to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by power, but by my Spirit, states the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.” – Zechariah 4:6 NLT

The garage doorway gradually rose. I pulled in, place the automobile in park, and shut the motor off. Sitting down, staring, and sobbing … Soon after a string of good times, the earlier twelve hours felt like square 1. I put myself on auto mode, walked into the home, positioned my coffee on the counter, and stared at a chair. It seemed to pull me in for a superior cry, and I listened. Loud, unfortunate, cries of despair, as I fought to grip the hope of ahead development I had felt in the past few times. All those cries stated far better than any phrase rely could.

Setbacks are tricky. Setbacks snap us out of reduction and again into combat or flight. A setback can threaten our thought lifetime to believe the progress was a mirage. Setbacks make it seem like God isn’t listening, isn’t there, or doesn’t care. The verse from Zechariah reminds us of our weaknesses…and God’s energy. Setbacks are tough. But they aren’t everlasting. Jesus is in it with us, compassionate in the direction of our suffering. For these enduring a setback today…

Let’s pray:
Father,
Right now, we really feel caught …setback …and discouraged. We occur to You, possibly with out text at all, to describe our determined have to have for You. God, You are devoted, comprehensive of mercy and compassionate to us. When we damage, we do so along with a Savior who understands how we truly feel and is sympathetic to our agony. Oh, God, thank You for the good friend we have in Jesus. We are a mess currently, Father. Yet, You see us as the lovely creation You knit inside of our mother’s womb, with a unique function and exceptional gifts. The great Father, You are there for us in every single way. Supplier, Healer, and Defender, You like us fiercely. You are jealous for us!

God, nevertheless setbacks are not enjoyable, we know You will pull us as a result of them. Even however this just one feels like it may choose us out, we place our self-assurance in You. We pick out to sit at Your feet and cry out in desperation, to the only Just one who flawlessly and fully understands our souls and cares for our hearts. Father, repentance is really hard. Hurt is tough. Pain which takes place to us, and suffering that we lump upon ourselves …is challenging. Remember to soften our stubborn hearts as we sit and weep at Your feet, determined for route and hurting for encouragement. Assistance us to listen to You, recall who You are, and Whose we are.

Father, area Your phrase in our hearts and generate it on our minds. For Your word is alive and potent. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting in between soul and spirit, in between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost feelings and wants. (Hebrews 4:12 NLT) You know us, totally. Lift our spirits and restore our hope, God, to see this setback for what it is …temporary. Assist us to confidently have confidence in You, and cling to the Hope we have in Christ Jesus. You promised us a tough journey on earth, but You also promised a comprehensive lifestyle. Complete of pleasure, peace, contentment, forgiveness, and enjoy. Aid us to embrace You as You bring us back to the area of development. In Jesus’ Title, Amen.
